Introduction
Together for Sudan is a dynamic charity that prides itself in stretching
and squeezing value from every scrap of funding. So despite 2009 being a tough year
that saw a reduction in funding by 10%, TfS achieved much and managed to
double the number of people reached by our HIV/AIDS outreach teams.

The overriding objective is to mobilise sufficient funds to sustain and,
if possible, expand all of Together for Sudan’s present programmes in
Sudan, with priority given to the university and school scholarships,
teacher training, vocational training, eye care and HIV/AIDS outreach
programmes.
We plan to focus the schools scholarship programmes on 10 selected
schools for the displaced around Khartoum and to provide additional help
for those schools. We aim to resume teacher training in the Nuba
Mountains and, subject to the availability of further funds, will expand
the teacher-training and support programmes there. We aim to resume
support of literacy classes for women that were closed because of
funding reductions. We will continue to keep all programmes under review
with a view to ensuring their cost-effectiveness.
