Women’s education is an effective means of development.
If women are educated they can play a more important role on the community, especially in our eastern societies. Women’s education has enabled women to leave their traditional occupations, for example in agriculture, for work more closely related to education. It plays an important role in enhancing women’s standing in their community and in helping them understand their problems and needs. So the work of Together for Sudan in the field of women’s education in Sudan, through offering university scholarships to disadvantaged Sudanese women without any racial or religious discrimination, is absolutely vital.
Together for Sudan aims to improve the health of individuals in poor local communities which lack access to health services, through its eye care project which supplies patients with free medicine, reading glasses and corrective lenses, as well as operations for those who need them. Together for Sudan also works to combat HIV/AIDS through its awareness outreaches.
In addition we offer young people vocational training so that they can find jobs, train teachers, fund literacy classes for women and provide solar panels for electricity in poor and remote areas. In all this Together for Sudan is one of the few organisations working in a good way to help people.
