Scholarship Project to Support Elementary Education
This project merges our scholarship project for marginalised and
impoverished children and the Together for Sudan Aids Orphans Project
which began in 2002. New scholarships are confined to AIDS orphans,
defined as children whose parent, parents or guardians have died of AIDS
or have been incapacitated by HIV and whose surviving relatives are
unable to fund their education. The scholars are children who would not
be educated or able to continue their studies without Together for Sudan
support. The Episcopal Church of Scotland has provided support for the
past three years and we are hoping that this can continue. Our aim is to
raise funds to be able to better support with uniforms, books and
feeding, over 250 AIDS-affected children. Community volunteers help
select the scholars and assist in monitoring.
